Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how PropKhata (“we”, “us”, the Data Fiduciary) collects, uses, shares and protects the personal data of individuals (“you”, the Data Principal) who use our website and services. It is intended to align with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the rules made under it. This is a starting template and will be finalised with legal review before launch.

1. Personal data we collect

Data you provide directly — such as your name and email address when you request early access or contact us — and limited technical data (such as device and approximate usage information) needed to operate and secure the site. We practise data minimisation: we collect only what is necessary for the purposes below.

2. Purposes & legal basis (consent)

We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you submit your details, and for the specific purposes notified to you: to respond to your requests, to send the early-access updates you opt into, and to operate, secure and improve our services. We use your data only for these purposes.

3. Your rights as a Data Principal

Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:

  • access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we process it;
  • request correction, completion or updating of your data;
  • request erasure of your data where it is no longer needed;
  • withdraw consent at any time (see below);
  • nominate another individual to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity;
  • a readily available means of grievance redressal.

4. Withdrawing consent

You may withdraw your consent at any time — it is as easy to withdraw as it was to give. Email us at contact@propkhata.com and we will stop the relevant processing and, where appropriate, erase your data. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out lawfully before withdrawal.

5. Cookies & tracking

This website currently uses no cookies, analytics or third-party trackers. If we introduce analytics or similar technologies in future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.

6. Sharing & processors

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers (Data Processors) who help us operate the site under appropriate contractual safeguards, or where required by law.

7. Data retention

We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law, after which it is deleted.

8. Security & breach notification

We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your data. In the event of a personal data breach, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected Data Principals as required under the DPDP Act.

9. Children's data

Our services are not directed at children. Where we knowingly process the data of a child or a person with a guardian, we will obtain verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian and will not undertake tracking or targeted advertising directed at children.

10. Grievance Officer

For any questions, requests or complaints about your personal data, contact our Grievance Officer:

We will acknowledge and respond to grievances within the timelines prescribed under applicable law.

11. Changes to this policy
