How many rent receipts do I need for HRA? +
Employers usually ask for receipts covering the months you're claiming — often one per month for the financial year. This tool generates a receipt for every month in the range you pick, in one go.
Is the landlord's PAN mandatory? +
If your annual rent exceeds ₹1,00,000, you must provide the landlord's PAN to claim HRA. The tool reminds you and prints the PAN on each receipt when you enter it.
Do I need a revenue stamp? +
Only for cash payments above ₹5,000 per receipt — a ₹1 revenue stamp is affixed and signed across. For UPI or bank transfer, your statement is the proof.
Can I claim HRA without rent receipts? +
Most employers require receipts to process the exemption. Even where they don't ask upfront, keep them — they're your evidence if the claim is ever questioned.
Are these receipts valid without a signature? +
